Comments on his father Wells Drury and his journalistic career in Nevada and San Francisco; his brother, Aubrey Drury; college days at University of California, 1908-1912; teaching and working as assistant to the President of the University; organization and work of the Save-the-Redwoods League; association with others prominent in conservation movement; development of the California state park system and the role of the California State Parks Council; formation of the State Park Commission; career as director of the National Park Service, 1941-51, as chief of the California Division of Beaches and Parks, 1951-59, and as secretary of the Save-the-Redwoods League from 1959. Also with the interview: 2 cartons of supplementary documents provided by Mr. Drury to illustrate points in the interview, arranged according to chapter headings in the transcript.
